Lyrics by Doug Frazier
Mayoff Day in twenty-twenty,
Oh what problems – we’ve got plenty!
COVID-19, that’s a trial,
For we’ve got to isolate and mask a while!
Oil prices, have been dropping,
But we can’t drive, even shopping,
Though we wish, we could get closer,
We must place a pickup order from the grocer.
Murder hornets, swarms of locusts,
Now the riots have our focus
Only five months into ‘20
And it feels like we’ve survived disasters plenty!
We have learned that, we can make it,
What life throws, we all will take it,
Floods, tornadoes, trials a’plenty,
We’ve been tempered by the fires of twenty-twenty.
Hoist your glass, at my insistence,
Mayoffs here, and social distanced,
To an end to, tribulations
And the very best to all! My salutations!
