Zelda Mayoff (nee Schwartz) (Abr) On Sunday, July 11, 2010. Beloved wife of Sol for sixty-seven years. Most loving mother and mother-in-law of Donna (Roman), Robert and the late Wendy, Doug and Cynthia, Richard, and Bonnie. Cherished Grandma of Ricky and Evelyn; David; Chelsea, Dylan, and Harley; Ashley; Cory, Daryl, and Oliver; and the late Lori. Proud great-grandmother of Emily, Olivia, Andrew, Montana, Stone and Jade. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Sidney Schwartz (Marilyn), the late Phyllis and the late Lionel Goldsmith, Doris and Hy Zilbert, the late Fritz and the late Mack Perel. Zelda was a special aunt to her many nieces and nephews, and a true friend to many. She will be so very sadly missed. Many thanks to her dedicated caregivers, Kerry, Gigi, Zinny, Julius and Nina. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Rubin Becker and nurse Elana Cohen. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Tuesday, July 13 at 12:00 noon. Burial at the Chevra Kadisha B’nai Jacob Congregation Section, Kehal Israel Cemetery, D.D.O. Shiva private from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. daily. Freda [Fritzie] Perel (nee Mayoff) (Abr)

Freda [Fritzie] Perel (nee Mayoff) (Abr). Ending her ninety-fourth year, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2009.  Beloved wife of, and shown with, the late Mack Perel.  She will be sadly missed by her daughters and son-in-law Doreen Kipnis [Neil] and Cheryl Nash.  Proud grandmother of Terri [Andrew], Jill, Shari [Oral] and Monica [Greg]. Cherished bubbie of Shawn, Adam, Sophie, Chiara and Sage.  Dearest sister of Sol [Zelda] and Doris, sister-in-law of Sarah and Rae [Jack].  She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Heartfelt thanks to 5th floor staff of the Jewish Eldercare Centre for their compassionate care.  Donations may be made in her memory to Sun Youth.  A private service was held.

Sydney Solomons (Soc)

Sydney Solomons – (Soc) Sadly on Thursday, October 15, 2009, a month before his 90th birthday.  Beloved husband of Beatrice.  Loving father of Stephen Solomons and Gerry Troy, and Cheryl and Leonard Cappe.  Adored zaida of Jeffrey Cappe and Tiana Roebuck, Sonia and Ben Leith, and Mitchell Cappe. Syd was a proud R.A.F.  World War II veteran, honourable fifty year member of the Masonic Temple and Shriners, lover of music, nature, crosswords, and cryptograms. Syd was wise beyond words with an inquisitive mind and his beautiful smile. His cleverness, wit, and love for his family was inspirational. Service on Sunday, October 18th at 2:30 p.m. at Beth Tzedec Congregation, 1700 Bathurst St., with interment at Beth Tzedec Memorial Park. Dennis Mayoff (Abr)

Dennis Mayoff (Abr) of Chicago, IL, born March 10, 1944, passed away in March 2009 of kidney failure.  Dennis was the husband of the late Linda Mayoff who passed away in August 2007.  Dennis was the only child of Sam and Bonita Mayoff and had no children.  See a photo montage of Dennis and Linda from a party in their honor (date unknown), courtesy of theri friend Carole Kuhrt-Brewer.

Betty Drucker Rosen (Hen) passed away on February 25, 2009 in Phoenix, Arizona.  Betty was the wife of the late Dr. Irwin Rosen.  Survivors include children Billie Rosen, Barbara Rosen, Robert Rosen, Richard Rosen and three grandchildren.

Sarah Mayoff (ISRAY) (nee Israelovitch).  Suddenly, on Tuesday, August 5, 2008.  Beloved wife of Moe Mayoff for sixty years.  Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Nancy Mayoff and Howard Kates, Joanne Mayoff and James Ondrick.  Cherished Bubbie of Jonathan Leblanc; Amanda Ondrick.  Dear sister and sister-in-law of Bessie and the late Joe Greenblatt, Myrna and Bram Aikman, the late Anne and the late Mark Gould, the late Louis and the late Kay Israelovitch, and sister-in-law of Sol and Essie Mayoff, the late Anne and the late Abe Morantz. Sadly mourned by her many nieces, nephews, family and friends.  Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W. on Thursday, August 7 at 12 noon.  Burial at the Reconstructionist Congregation Section, Eternal Gardens Cemetery, Beaconsfield.  Shiva at 6635 Mackle Rd., C.S.L. through Monday evening.  Contributions in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.

Allan Mayoff

Allan Mayoff – Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, January 26, 2008.  Son of the late Stanley and the late Jean Mayoff.  Beloved husband of Eva Busgang.  Devoted father and father-in-law of Felicia and Lionel Perez, Ilana and Neil Hubscher, Jeffrey Busgang, Lisa and Lorne Rabinovitch, Michael and Barbra Busgang.  Proud and adored Zaidie of Naomi, Amram, Simcha, Avigail; Kayla, Madison, Jeremy; Jacob, Benjamin, Avrum.  Dear brother of Sharon, Hershey (Jackie), Barry (Christine).  Brother-in-law of Abie (Sandy) Schwartz, Benny (Marlene) Schwartz, Gershon (Kettie) Schwartz.  Allan will be lovingly remembered by his nieces, nephews, family and friends.  Funeral service took place from Paperman and Sons 3888 Jean Talon W. on Sunday, January 27.  Shiva private.  Contributions in his memory may be made to Hope and Cope or to the Segal Cancer Centre c/o Jewish General Hospital Foundation, (514) 340-8251.

Barbara Sue Simon

Barbara Sue Simon, (75), died on October 22, 2007 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.  Beloved wife of Herbert, and loving mother and best friend to daughters Amy York, Lisa Koransky, and the late Paula York.  Also survived by sister and brother-in-law,Marilyn and Ed Fine, stepdaughters, Mistie and Francesca, son-in-law, Henry Koransky, and the numerous friends and relatives who loved her dearly.  Barbara enriched our lives through her unconditional love, acceptance, support, strength, and beauty.  She will forever live on in our hearts and minds.  We love and miss her dearly.

Benita Mayoff, wife of the late Sam Mayoff (Abr) passed away Sept 2, 2006 in Chicago.  She was 91.  She is survived by her son, Dennis Mayoff and his wife Linda.

Stanley Mayoff passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2006 at the age of 79.  Husband of the late Jean Derzawetz.  Beloved father and father-in-law of Allan and Eva, Sharon, Hershey and Jackie, Barry and Christine.  Cherished grandfather of Felicia and Lionel Perez, Ilana and Neil Hubscher; Lisa and Lorne Rabinovitch, Jeffrey Busgang, Michael and Barbara Busgang; Ian Wineberg and Scott, Darrin and Pascale Wineberg; Ryan and Sophie Mayoff, Brandon Mayoff, Jason Mayoff.  Loving great grandfather of eight.  Predeceased by his siblings Moe, Ben, Jack, Ziggy, Anne, Issie, Saul and Burke.  Dear brother-in-law of Abie and Hilda Derzawetz.  Special thanks to James for his care and devotion.  Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W. on Tuesday, June 27 at 3:15 p.m.  Burial at the Bassarabier Hebrew Cemetery, de la Savane, Montreal, Quebec.
