Cheryl Mayoff works at Philmont Scout Ranch
Cheryl spent the summer of 1998 working as a program counselor at Philmont Scout Ranch in the mountains of northeastern New Mexico, near the town of Cimarron. Philmont is a 300+ square mile cattle ranch that belongs to the Boy Scouts of America. It is a high adventure area that allows groups of scouts to go on a 10 day trek through a gorgeous part of the United States. There are a number of back country camps that the scouts can stop at to rest, camp and learn new skills. Cheryl worked and lived at Beaubien, a horse and cattle camp at the top of a mountain. She taught scouts to rope and to brand. Cheryl is also an accomplished chef so she was very popular with the rest of the staff too.
