Ingredients
- 3 large pears
- 8 2/3oz puff pastry, frozen, baked
- 1/4 cup light butter
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp ground cardamom OR seeds from 10 cardamom pods instead of ground caramom
- (Can add one more pear and 2 Tbsp whipped cream for no extra Weight Watcher points)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425F
- Roll out pastry sheet slightly larger than pan and chill.
- Put melted butter in 7″ cake pan, sprinkle with sugar and cardamom seeds.
- Peel, core and halve pears, and place rounded side down in pan over medium heat till sugar melts and begins to bubble. Do not stir.
- Place pastry over pears, tucking in around pears and bake in preheated 425F oven for 25 minutes until the pastry is well risen and golden.
- Leave tart in the pan for 2-3 minutes until the juices have stopped bubbling.
- Invert over serving plate and shake to release the tart. You may have to use a spatula here.
- Serve the tart warm with whipped cream.
